How to make smoky-eye make-up and look as elegant and glamorous? Our tips in this tutorial.

Step 1: apply a smoky eye shadow

As with any make-up, before making a star smoky-eye, you must first prepare your eyes. To do this, cleanse your face, then apply a nude eye shadow over the entire brow bone and eyelid area. Use a non-iridescent champagne or beige blush (the same shade as the skin pigmentation). Once this preliminary preparation has been carried out, you can proceed with the actual smoky-eye. To do this, take a smoky eye shadow of medium intensity such as slate grey or taupe brown. Blend this shadow over the entire mobile eyelid, making sure to go all the way to the base of the eyebrow arch. Don't hesitate to superimpose the layers for an intense result. Finish this step by applying a shadow of the same colour, but a slightly darker shade on the outside of the eye and in the crease of the eyelid. Blend the shadows together by blending a little with your index finger.

Step 2: Underline your eyes

The second step to making a star smoky-eye is to emphasize your look. Take a black pencil and underline the fringe of your lashes from the outer corner of the eye to the inner corner. It's best if the line is a little thick. Blur the line a little with your finger. Repeat the same operation under the eye. Always start from the outer corner towards the inner corner and make sure you stay as close as possible to the fringe of your lashes. Do not forget, there again, to blur with your finger. To keep the pencil line in place, apply a little black shadow over it. Use a fine brush to do this. Stretch the material all the way to the centre of your mobile eyelid.

Step 3: Finishing

To finish your smoky-eye, apply eye shadow, a colour other than black, in the crease of your eyelid, on the outside. This helps to better structure the eyes. Do not hesitate to superimpose layers to obtain the intensity you want. To avoid the "black eye" effect, start slowly and gradually increase the power. To perfect the look, simply brush your eyebrows. With a smoky-eye, the eyebrows should remain natural.
